Invest in Your Stallion Kicks Off 

Invest in Your Stallion (IIYS) is the PTO’s annual direct-donation campaign and our primary source of funding for the extras that make a meaningful difference in our students’ school experience. 

While the majority of state and county funding goes toward teacher and staff salaries, PTO fundraising provides additional support for instructional enrichment, student experiences, classroom needs, and improvements to our 20-year-old campus and grounds. These are the opportunities and improvements that directly benefit our children, and they are made possible through the generosity of our Sunset families.

Our goal this year is $41,000, with a suggested donation of $200 per family. We understand every family’s circumstances are different, and every gift—regardless of amount—makes a difference. 100% of your donation goes directly back to Sunset Elementary, making IIYS one of the most direct ways to invest in our students, teachers, and school community.

And there’s a little extra Stallion spirit in it for everyone!  Regardless of whether you donate, please have your student complete and return their Invest form to school by September 9 to earn a foam finger for the Staff Kickball Game! Foam fingers are available while supplies last, so be sure to return your form on time. Let’s fill the stands, cheer on our staff, and show what happens when our Sunset community invests together!

2026-2027 Committee and Board Opportunities 

When you think of Sunset, we hope you think of a strong Stallion community—one that shows up for our students, teachers, and staff.

As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, we still have several PTO leadership and event volunteer opportunities available. To continue offering the events and experiences our families love, we need your help! These roles are manageable, rewarding, and can easily be shared with a friend.

Committee Leads:

• Staff Appreciation - Year Round
• Fall Carnival & Auction - September 2026
• Donuts with Grown Ups - October 2026
• Family Dance - Feb 5th, 2027
