Part of our PTO’s mission is to provide additional funding for Sunset Elementary. Each year, the PTO carefully determines its fundraising methods and goals based on feedback from previous experiences and input from parents and the school administration. We work with the principal and the school’s faculty and staff to determine the students’ needs each year and allocate funding based on their requests, recommendations, and the principle that our PTO works for the benefit of all children at Sunset Elementary. This year, our two largest fundraisers are the Invest In Your Child (IIYC) campaign in the fall and the Fun Run in the spring. We also host events (i.e., Golf Tournament, Fall Festival, Nolensville Community Kids Marathon) and participate in retail programs (i.e. BoxTops for Education, Publix Partners, Kroger Community Rewards, Coca-Cola Gives, Amazon Smile) that raise funds. Based on parent feedback, we have decided to NOT use programs that have students selling wrapping paper, magazines, food, coupon books, etc.

Invest In Your Child
Invest In Your Child (IIYC) is a check writing campaign and the PTO’s primary source of financial support for our school. It kicks off at the beginning of the school year and ends September 21, 2018, though we will happily accept donations and employer matches throughout the year. Because this is a straight donation, 100% of the donations received are spent on SSES.
Our 2018-19 IIYC goal is to raise $37,000 and have 100% family participation. We respectfully request a minimum donation of $130 from each family (NOT per student), but any donation amount is greatly appreciated. Because the SSES PTO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your donation is tax deductible and many employers will match your donations, including the following companies:

Our Fun Run is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year! Because of the overwhelming financial success and positive feedback from students, faculty, school administration, and volunteers, we have contracted with Boosterthon again to manage our Fun Run in February 2019.
Like other fundraising programs, Boosterthon utilizes an incentive program with prizes and challenges to encourage students to solicit donations from family, friends, and neighbors. Students love the enthusiastic atmosphere that begins with a kickoff pep rally and concludes ten days later with the party-like Fun Run, including a Color Run for the 5th graders. The administration and faculty love the character education instruction and positive messages built in to the Boosterthon program that support the Guidance curriculum. Volunteers appreciate that Boosterthon manages all of the details of the Fun Run, including tracking pledges, distributing prizes, and maintaining a fun, high energy atmosphere to encourage the fundraiser’s success.
