Do I have to volunteer?

No, but we would certainly appreciate your help! The PTO is a volunteer-run organization and volunteer opportunities are always available. You may peruse and choose any that may interest you on the Open Forms page. If there are specific areas where you would like to help, make sure you select them on the Volunteer Interests page and the Committee Chair will contact you when the need arises.

Do I have to attend meetings?

No, but you are welcome to attend! We have three General PTO Meetings each year and they are a great way to get an overview of events that are being planned. The April meeting is when we elect new officers for the following school year.

Are there any tangible benefits to joining the PTO?

Yes! PTO members receive exclusive access to the school directory. We do not print a directory and it is only available online through our website and the FREE Membership Toolkit app. The app is available from the Apple Store and in Google Play. If you belong to multiple organizations that use Membership Toolkit (like the PTOs for Sunset Middle School, Mill Creek Middle School, Ravenwood High School, and Nolensville High School), you will see all of those organizations presented in the app and you may toggle between them. Within the app, you can text, call, email, and look up addresses of other Sunset Elementary families.
